A warm, dry summer was met with a cool and moist harvest season. Our 2021 Estate Cabernet Franc starts out with juicy aromas of blackberry, blueberry, and leather. The palate is broad, showcasing supple tannins, moderate acidity, and baked berry characteristics.
2022 Benmarl Winery Estate Cabernet Franc (Pre-Release)
An exceptionally warm and dry summer gave way to a temperate and accommodating harvest season. Young and vibrant, this wine shows some aging potential with firm, yet approachable tannin structure. Classic aromas of blackberry are met with subtle barrel spice and a lifted acidity on the finish.

2021 Fjord Vineyards Unoaked Cabernet Franc (Estate Grown)
100% Cabernet Franc. Perhaps our purest expression of Cabernet Franc, this wine was spontaneously fermented and aged in stainless steel for nearly 6 months before being bottled unfixed and unfiltered. This vintage is floral and pungent on the nose. Aromas of blackberry, cassis, leather, and fresh earth are dominant. The palate is lively yet concentrated with more berry and herbal undertones.
2022 Fjord Vineyards Cabernet Franc (Estate Grown)
100% Cabernet Franc sourced from our Morningside and TK vineyards. 2022 proved to be an exceptional vintage with unusually hot and dry conditions in the summer. An earlier than normal harvest led to an extremely focused expression of Hudson River Region Cabernet Franc. The concentrated fruit aromas are balanced by the subtle barrel spice from 8 months in 2–5-year-old French oak barrels. The palate offers firm tannins, moderate acidity, ripe berry, and tobacco notes that linger.
2022 Fjord Vineyards Dry Rose of Cabernet Franc (Estate Grown)
98% Cabernet Franc, 2% Merlot. 100% Stainless steel Fermentation. Coming from a dry and exceptionally warm vintage, our 2022 Rose showcases the more fruit forward end of Cabernet Franc Rose. Aromas of Strawberry, white peach and rose petals are dominant. The palate is lively and tropical with bright acidity, passion fruit and grassy notes.

The fruit is sourced from our ripest block in our estate vineyard and consists of an almost equal portion of the two of the three clones of Cabernet Franc that we grow, 623 and 327. Perfumed red berry fruit along with enticing cola and oak spice create this deeply aromatic Estate Cabernet Franc. The mouthfeel is harmonious balance of weight, acidity, and fine lengthy tannins that allow for early drinking but will benefit from extended aging.

100% estate Cabernet Franc. The 2022 Hudson Valley growing season was unusually hot and drier than normal. Aggressive bird pressure led to an earlier than usual harvest, but this vintage highlighted how fruit can shine in a Hudson Valley Cabernet Franc. Bright, vibrant, fruit-forward. A ruby-hued, lighter body, juicy Cabernet Franc. Taste fresh raspberry, red plum, cranberry, strawberry jam, slight licorice, and leather.
2023 Cabernet Franc Estate (Barrel Sample)
100% estate Cabernet Franc. Our 2023 growing season was very wet and late summer was cooler than usual. A more humid and warmer fall again led to an earlier than anticipated harvest. Fruit still shines in this vintage, however the Marlboro Mountains terroir is more pronounced and adds to the finish. Juicy cherry, plum, raspberry, pale ruby color, leather, and earth.

2020 Estate Cabernet Franc

2023 Estate Cabernet Franc
Opening with floral chamomile and honeysuckle, then notes of dill and fresh grass, the “Blanc Franc” entices. On the palate this complex wine offers lingering hints of Myer lemon, lychee, and Asian pear. It is gorgeously creamy with a full bodied, medium finish.

2016 Cabernet Franc
Made from estate Cabernet Franc from Whitecliff’s home vineyard, this vintage won Double Gold in the San Francisco International Wine Competition and 90 points from Wine Enthusiast. With muscular tannins and ripe fruit, it has the rich flavors of Cabernet Sauvignon without the weight. Notes of red plum, red cherry, blossom, rosebud, vanilla and clove baking spice. Aged 6 to 8 months in American and Hungarian oak barrels (20% new oak).
2020 Petillant Rosé
100% estate Cabernet Franc from Whitecliff’s home vineyard. This sparkling rose is made in the ancestral method, resulting in a lighter concentration of small bubbles than a traditional Champagne. Indigenous yeast is utilized and it is bottled before primary fermentation finishes, allowing it to complete fermentation in the bottle. It boasts notes of rich cherry, mellow vanilla, and a bit of spice with a smooth finish.
2020 Cabernet Franc
Made from estate Cabernet Franc from Whitecliff’s Olana vineyard in Hudson, this vintage won Double Gold, Best in Category, and Overall Best Wine in Show in the Hudson Valley Wine Competition. Aged 16 months in 80% Hungarian and 20% American oak barrels (total 40% new oak). Medium bodied and smooth with notes of black cherry, red and green pepper, and a sharp, slightly smokey finish.
2021 Cabernet Franc
Cabernet Franc from Whitecliff’s Olana vineyard in Hudson. Produced using French oak puncheons; the larger barrels reduce the surface area to volume ratio allowing for the micro-oxygenation benefit of barrel aging without the heavy oak influence on taste or aromatics. French oak is also tighter grained, allowing for the wine to be aged longer in the barrel. This vintage has a lovely aroma of leather, spice and herbs, and notes of green pepper and cherry on the palate.
2022 Cabernet Franc (Barrel Sample)
Cabernet Franc from Whitecliff’s Olana vineyard in Hudson. Aged in French oak puncheons to allow for micro-oxygenation without heavy oak taste or aroma. A classic example of Hudson Valley Cabernet Franc with medium body and notes of black cherry and spice.
